Nana’s Hoose is a unique, immersive training environment created by GSR Training to bring Health & Social Care learning to life. Inspired by our founder’s own Nana and designed around a typical Scottish family home from the 1980s, Nana’s Hoose provides learners with a realistic setting in which to explore the experiences, challenges, and needs of older people receiving care and support.
Rather than learning solely in a traditional classroom, learners can step into an environment that feels familiar and authentic, allowing them to put their knowledge into practice through realistic scenarios and discussions. The space has been carefully designed to encourage learners to think about person-centred care, dignity, independence, communication, dementia, safeguarding, nutrition and hydration, falls prevention, and the everyday experiences of older people.
The immersive environment helps learners see care from a different perspective, encouraging empathy, reflection, and a deeper understanding of how the surroundings, communication, and approach of a care professional can affect someone's wellbeing. It is particularly valuable for those working with older people and individuals living with dementia or other care needs.
Nana’s Hoose isn't just a training room — it's an opportunity to step into the world of the person you're caring for.
